Filmmaker Kumar Ramsay dies of heart attack, was famous for making horror films

Another dangerous information has come from the Bollywood trade. After veteran actor Dilip Kumar, filmmaker Kumar Ramsay, now famous for horror films, died on Thursday. Kumar Ramsay was 85 years previous and had suffered a heart assault. According to media reviews, he breathed his final at his residence in Mumbai.

Kumar Ramsay’s elder son Gopal advised that he breathed his final at his residence in Hiranandani, Mumbai. Kumar Ramsay is survived by his spouse Sheela and three sons Raj, Gopal and Sunil. Gopal stated, ‘He died of a heart assault at 5.30 am at the moment. He left very peacefully. The final rites can be carried out round 12 midday. We are ready for the priest to return.

Kumar Ramsay was the son of filmmaker FU Ramsay and the eldest of seven brothers. The Ramsay brothers included Keshu, Tulsi, Karan, Shyam, Gangu and Arjun who dominated the manufacturing of horror films. He used to make low funds cult films within the 70s and 80s.

Kumar was instrumental in writing scripts for most of the Ramsay Brothers’ films, together with ‘Purana Mandir’ (1984), ‘Saya’ and ‘Khoj’ (1989). The lead position in ‘Saya’ was performed by Shatrughan Sinha and the hit 1989 movie ‘Khoj’ starred Rishi Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah in lead roles. He appeared in 1979’s ‘Who Else?’ And additionally produced films like ‘Dashat’ in 1981.
