Bangladeshi actress Pori Moni arrested, drugs and liquor bottles found at home

Bangladesh’s well-known actress Pori Moni, who was accused of rape and homicide at a ship membership on June 8, has been arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the anti-crime unit of the police. This was confirmed by Commander Khandakar Al Moeen, director of the authorized and media wing of the RAB. Actress Pori was taken to the elite drive’s headquarters at round 9 pm on August 4, after a four-hour raid at her home in Dhaka’s Banani.

Before arresting the actress, RAB claimed that they’d recovered drugs and liquor bottles from the actress’ home throughout the raid. The actress was produced in a Dhaka courtroom on Thursday morning.

Shamsunnahar Smriti, popularly often called Pori Moni, had claimed that she was attacked on June 8 by Nasir Uddin Mahmood, former president of the boat membership and director of Gulshan All Community Club, a businessman and politician. She had accused Mehmood of sexual harassment at the boat membership. But the actress did not register the case because the accused is a detailed buddy of Bangladesh Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed.
